Cupcakes. A small circle piece of cake with frosting? Or a tiny cake in a cup? Regardless of shape, form or size, cupcakes are one of the things that make life enjoyable. If you're a fan of cupcakes, why not head over to Plain Vanilla Bakery!
Plain Vanilla sells a variation of items from cupcakes to tarts to cakes and others! Unlike most cafes, Plain Vanilla is a small retail space where there are only two tables (in ION Orchard) where strangers will have to sit together!
Plain Vanilla Bakery offers 10 mainstay cupcakes and a few other flavours that stay for a certain period of time. They range from classic Red Velvet to heavenly Chocolate Hazelnut. There is bound to be a flavour that you'd enjoy! Not to mention they all taste uniquely different! Each cupcake cost $3.90 SGD while buying half a dozen costs $22 SGD.
Recently, since it was Christmas, Plain Vanilla Bakery released some new Christmas cupcake. I am absolutely in love with their Double Chocolate Peppermint Cupcake . The cake was made from dark chocolate which you would think that it would be too bitter however the cake was not so bitter, yet not too sweet either. The icing is made from peppermint which leaves a refreshing feeling. However, inside the cake is a surprise. In the centre of the cake, there is custard cream which leaves you surprised. The trio tastes amazing together. I have yet to see and wait as to what other flavours might pop up by the store next time!
There are three Plain Vanilla Bakery outlets. One is located at Holland Village, the other is at Tiong Bahru and the newly opened one (pictures illustrated on top) is at ION, Orchard.
